it happened one year ago today.
june 4, 2004. they say these things take time and that recovery gets easier as time goes on, and i suppose that's true.
but then again, some things leave a hole in your heart that will never go away.

Sorry to hear about your loss and the situation leading up to this event. I only hope that someday, Justice will be served to those that have misused and lied to so many. Millions of lives have been changed and have suffered because of lies, abuse and treachery from the ivory towers and the doctrine of men.

Interesting possibilities!
my mom told me that an elder said in his public talk on sunday that we need to stay separate from the "world".
evidently, the buzz is that there was a part being given by an unbelieving husband that has been recently attending meetings with his wife.
the issue was not that this man invited most of the congregation and they went (including the elder and his family) but that one fellow unbelieving husband who is being studied with did not get invited because he was "worldly and still smokes".
Not being mean, just accurate! You must remember that the elders are the "Lords" over all that they wish to misuse and abuse and they have to answer to nobody. It is their way or the highway. They must have control and total enslavement and obedience. Besides, someone just might start to think for themselves and maybe, just might ask a "pointed" question and embarrass the "lofty ones."

being announced at service meetings this week at all us congregations:.
a letter read during the announcements states that due to increased costs of health insurance and vehicles provided for traveling overseers (circuit and district overseers) the watchtower bible and tract society has determined the need to ask for a specific "contribution" for the "traveling overseer assistance arrangement".. .
until this date expenses of this sort were paid from the worldwide work or general fund of contributions.. .
It's always about money and control.
i know a lot of young people leave the 'truth'.
but i would never have thought that so many of us with 20, 30, 40 years in would be leaving.
what do you think accounts for that?
Why are people leaving the WTB&TS?
Answer:
1. Because people are learning "the real truth."
2. They have experienced the hypocrisy of the WTB&TS and from the flock
3. The lack of love within the various congregations
4. The Elder lordship, dictatorship and associated problems
5. The lack of change for the better and for TRUTH
6. The lies
7. The lack of trust
8. The willingness to hurt and discard
9. The mind control
10. The lack of freedom from social abuse and other abuse......................
and on and on and on!
i just read another post that touched upon praying directly to jesus and it reminded me of the other day at church.
i don't know if it's just my jw roots or what but one of the men who said the prayer in church prayed directly to jesus.
he kept using jesus' name in prayer speaking directly to him on our behalf, he brought out that no other name is higher than that of jesus and when he closed he did so in the name of jesus.
For the most part, regardless of all of the faults and hypocrisy of non thinking JWs, one thing is for certain, much of the information is correct. It is the "people factor" that has caused trouble.
Direct your prayers to the most high god which will judge all other Gods. His name is Jehovah (English) or if you wish, use the name Yahweh. The word "Elohim" simply means "God."

specifically, if the human mind is the product of a "ghost in the machine" and not simply the result of electrochemical interactions, then the mind should not be dependent on the physical actions of the brain that houses it.

first, in the way of history, the wtbts got linked up with the un as an ngo (non-governmental organization).to do so, the watchtower had to conform to the rules.
As the story unfolds, be very assured that more "news" is forth coming about the hypocrisy of the WTB&TS. There is a lot more than just the UN situation. Keep watching the headlines......
my mother told me that the congregation has been pretty much begging for money for the local kingdom hall.
after the presiding overseer expressed the state of debt and severe lack on contributions, he then asked the congregation to approve a resolution to send mor money to the society!!!
i don't know how they are able to function.
Well, maybe if the WTB&TS was not paying out so much in Court settlements and Lawsuits, there would be enough money to go around.
Should I give money to them? You "friends" decide and I will donate or I won't. What do you think? Let me know if my money would be better spent elsewhere.......KIM
